What is a digital connect card?

It is the online version of the paper card churches have used for decades: a short form where someone shares their name, how to reach them, and anything they would like prayer for. The point has never been the card — it is starting a conversation with someone who just showed up.

How is this different from a Planning Center form?

A Planning Center form is excellent once someone decides to fill it in, and everything we capture syncs into Planning Center anyway. The difference is who fills it in. A form is a separate step that most viewers skip; with PealCast, connecting is simply how you start watching, so you hear from everyone rather than the few who go looking for the link.

Do people have to give a phone number?

That is the default, and it is deliberate — a verified mobile number is the one detail that actually lets you follow up. We check it is a real cellphone rather than a disposable number, so your list stays reachable. You can configure what your church asks for, and you can make it a gentle prompt rather than a requirement.

Does it feel like a paywall?

It should not, and by default it is not one. Most churches run it as a warm welcome rather than a locked door — the same expectation as signing the guest book on your way in. If you would rather nobody is ever stopped, you can leave it entirely optional.

Can we use it for in-person guests too?

Yes. Put a QR code on the screen or in the bulletin and it opens the same connect card. It is the same list either way, so a guest in the room and a guest online end up in the same place for your team to follow up.

Where does the information go?

Into your church’s own list, and onto the person’s record in Planning Center. It belongs to your church — you can export it at any time, and if you ever leave, it leaves with you.

Three ways churches do this

A card in the seat back, filled in by whoever remembers, collected by whoever is on duty, typed up on Tuesday if someone gets to it. Most never come back at all.

They connect once

A short, warm prompt — name and mobile number, and optionally a prayer request. We check the number is a real cellphone, so what lands in your list is genuinely reachable.

They never fill it in again

From then on the link in every notification recognises them automatically. No account, no password, no app to install.

Your team gets the card

Their details, what they watched, and any prayer request reach your team — and sync straight onto their record in Planning Center.

Everything captured syncs to Planning Center, and turns into your weekly Shepherd’s Report.
